The Men's Mental Health Podcast hosted by Philip Briscoe
Mid-life Men podcast

Mid-life Men podcast

Do you feel as if you've become lost in your own life?

Many men are reluctant to discuss their mental health because they were raised to believe that doing so is a sign of weakness or failure. As a result, many men may feel isolated and adrift in their own lives at times.

In this podcast series, I interview mid-life men about their experiences; the struggles, the turning points, and the assistance they received to help them find their way, so that those who are suffering in silence or don't know what to do next realise they are not alone and that help is there.

If you have a story you would like to share or any feedback on the podcasts, please get in contact using the form on this website.

Creator and host

Philip is a mid-life man, over 50, married with three children and an hyperactive spaniel. Having spent over twenty-five years working in the tech industry, a job change at the end of last year forced him to question what he'd been doing all these years and what he really wanted to do next. He realised that much of his identity was linked to his occupation and how easy it is to suddenly find yourself lost in the middle of your own life. Talking to other mid-life men, he discovered he wasn't alone. Challenges with identity, career, addiction and many other mental health issues are common, and many men are struggling.

Researching the podcast market, he found few are devoted to men's mental health especially for with a focus on the middle years. As a result, Philip created this podcast series, talking to mid-life men about their challenges, and the turning points that helped them find their way again with the aim that their lived experiences will resonate and help others.
